Day 341 – Bright Light City

When days run into days, I know a certain power is at work.
Days that begin at early hours of the morning are the most draining and uplifting.
Oh, fancy a glass of almost-all-nighters?
To take me into the burrows of books.
And arise only to depart once more,
Arriving at odd hours in cities unlike others.
Depart once more only to find yourself amidst skyscrapers.
Jam-packed streets littered with taxicabs, buses, and classy sedans.
By foot, I move relentlessly, in search of a quenching meal.
I dance among the hustlers and bustlers
In a city that truly never sleeps
If only I could stay, for visits never seem to last.
