Day 266 – Wither Away

Admit it: you’ve gotten lazy.
Lazier than usual,
Life is crazier than usual,
And you’re giving up.
Not really giving up a tangible thing,
But giving up enough to make us want to scream.
Having us pour you another glass,
So you can drink in peace.
Peace and quiet,
Never mind, you despise it.
You despise all things worthy of remembrance.
And left us to fend for ourselves.
Well you’ve given up on loving us,
Or so it seems to be.
But know that we have not chosen this for ourselves.
Not him.
Not her.
Not me.
