Day 255 – Ignite

I hate it how you set one little spark off
Like the firecrackers that are illegally purchased
And wake the elderly neighbors
And light the night sky with too much chaos
And too much smoke
And like a fuse, you are unpredictable
For you move an unprecedented speed
Light you quickly, and you will run off
Too soon before others can escape
And it’s too late.
You’ve engulfed us in your flames
Which lick at our wounds,
Inflicting more pain.
I wonder why it’s so hard to restrain.
