Day 152 – We Are Cursed

We offer our second chances
As if they’re easily replaced
We lend our minds to vulnerability
And we eagerly get a taste

Of the sour and the intolerable
The spicy and inhumane
We indulge in the unhealthy
It isn’t tricky to sustain

It only requires our energy
All the patience that we own
We give up each ounce of dignity
That resides in each bone

We do not need our strength
Just rid of our sincerity
In fact, there’s no need for comfort
So let go of our prosperity

And once there’s nothing left
For others to soak in
We’ll realize that giving our all
Is both a blessing and a sin
