Day 140 – Lullaby for the Restless

This is what happens when you let it unfold at will
You stand with your palms out ahead hoping to feel

For something familiar
While the action itself
Is quite peculiar

Perhaps it is worth it?

Worth getting burned over
And the fines you’ve accrued
And the conflicting fight:
Body, mind & soul feud

Reminded of your faults
I don’t blame you for fearing fate
But I do loathe your intense self-hate

You punch yourself in your gut
And though time is still
You’ve had enough

Pull out that pocket watch
But let minutes say goodnight
Close your eyes
Before you’re blinded by light
