Day 51 – A Good Look

Your familiar face
Remains nameless
Mindless, aimless
Fearless, shameless
Unknown, fameless
Unscathed, painless

Intensity begins
It’s never been done
Remember? Recall it?
Midsummer sun
Rays that penetrate
The heat has begun

Caught up in the lightning
Lost in a mess
Of footprints and puddles
Potholes and stress
Sewers backed up
Now you digress

In spite of shadows
Cast upon the land
You grasp on to the sting
In the palm of your hand
And deny thy sins
Abhor and reprimand

You rise up higher
Yes please, higher
Continuous movement
Just until you tire
Work to clean your slate
Prove you are no liar
